Marcello Dudovich (1878 – 1962) is regarded as one of the greatest Italian poster artists of all time, also participating in the budding movie industry. Dudovich revolutionized posters by streamlining the excessive Art Nouveau style into a more modern look. He created richly colored, dramatic, playful posters for opera publisher, Ricordi, and was also the official poster artist for Mele, a famous fashion department store. Ricordi later enjoyed success designing ads for Carpano, Fiat, Pirelli and Alpha Romeo.
