Forcipiger longirostris (Broussonet, 1782). Like butterflies, many butterflyfish have dramatic coloration, often yellow and black, and “eyespots” on their bodies. This specimen was collected in 2004 from French Polynesia and still retains much of its patterning, even though the alcohol that preserves the fish has caused its bright pigments to fade. Size of specimen: 18 centimeters (7 inches)
Digitally Printed on Archival Photographic Paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
