Sir Francis Dicksee (1853-1928) is closely identified with the Pre-Raphaelites, although he was not a member of their brotherhood. Born into an artistic family, his father was also a painter and an etcher. The romantic allure of the younger Dicksee’s medieval style literary, allegorical, and biblical subjects outfitted in lavishly costumed and richly colored style earned him great success and popularity. Through his exhibits and growing association with the Royal Academy, he eventually became its President.
This fine art Giclee on canvas print has been museum-wrapped around 1.5” wood stretcher bars, and finished with handpainted white edges.
