Product Information
In Johannes Itten’s “Kunst der Farbe,” blue enjoys a bright, cheerful relationship with yellow, but might turn gloomy and dull if paired with another color. Itten (1888 – 1967) created a color wheel that classified how adjacent colors affect each other, and included the psychological, physical and emotional effects of colors. While teaching at the Bauhaus (Germany’s artistic mecca), Itten produced “The Art of Color,” which became the school’s definitive textbook. Itten’s revolutionary color theories still influence today’s cosmetologists, artists and designers. Also known as silk screening, serigraphy is a process by which multiple layers of ink are manually pressed through fine screens, resulting in an art print that resembles a painting on paper.
