Minnesota-born artist Scott Sandell’s career builds on his lifelong fascination with Asian art, culture, and an atypical approach to printmaking. In fact, even though his artworks are prints, they have much more in common with paintings. His collages are built on layers of wet ink and running a sheet through the press resulting in traditional style Asian banners. Interestingly, Sandell associates his creative approach to his former sail-making career, using the same tools, the same markings, and a similar assembly sequence whether he’s painting or make a spinnaker.
This art print displays sharp, vivid images with a high degree of color accuracy. A member of the versatile family of art prints, this high-quality reproduction represents the best of both worlds: quality and affordability. Art prints are created on paper similar to that of a postcard or greeting card using an offset lithography press.
