American painter and illustrator Arthur Sarnoff (1912 – 2000) was famous for his tasteful pinup girls and whimsically humanized dogs that play cards, shoot pool and golf. Known for his iconic Americana ads, he also created covers for numerous magazines as well as fine art prints and portraits of presidents and celebrities. His work has been exhibited in museums and his humorous hounds were among the best-selling prints of the 1950s.
