As famous as any celebrity, the legendary Hollywood Boulevard co-starred in the 28th Academy Awards. The mythical Los Angeles street, elegantly draped in magical light, and its landmark Pantages Theatre, hosted the annual film industry event from 1950 through 1960. Established in 1930, the lavish Art Deco theater’s 1956 Academy Awards presentation was emceed by Jerry Lewis Claudette Colbert and Joseph L. Mankiewicz, and honored “Marty” with the Best Motion Picture Oscar.
