Dutch artist Jan Vermeer (1632 – 1675) was known for his lifelike works and exceptional command of light. Vermeer, initially a historical and genre artist, painted remarkably expressive interior scenes which depicted daily life with dignity and grace. His strikingly realistic work was imbued with nearly microscopic detail, and sparkling highlights called pointillés. Vermeer, who only produced 35 paintings, is regarded as one of the Dutch Golden Age’s greatest artists.
This fine art Giclee on canvas print has been museum-wrapped around 1.5” wood stretcher bars, and finished with handpainted white edges.
