Derek Jeter the 1996 American League Rookie of the Year has appeared in 10 All-Star games won 4 Gold Glove awards and won 5 World Series titles. In 2000 he was named MVP of both the All-Star Game and World Series. In 2003 he was named team captain. He has led his team to the Postseason in 14 of his 15 seasons prior to 2010 including 7 World Series. During Game 3 of the 2001 ALDS with the Yankees trailing the series 2-0 and on the brink of elimination Derek Jeter saved the season. Jeter emerged out of nowhere to intercept a botched Shane Spencer overthrow and quickly flipped the ball to Jorge Posada who tagged Jeremy Giambi out at the plate. The play helped preserve a Yankees win and catapulted the Bronx Bombers all the way to the World Series.
