On September 11th 2009, New York Yankee captain Derek Jeter collected his 2,722 hit, surpassing Lou Gehrig's record for a Bronx Bomber. Jeter added another highlight to his Hall of Fame resume, which includes a Rookie of the Year Award in 1996, 12 All-Star appearances, 5 Gold Gloves and most importantly, 5 World Series Championships. Gehrig had held the record for 70 years, but there was no person more suited to take his place than Jeter, who already had the record for hits in the original Yankee Stadium. Derek Jeter has hand signed this 8x10 photograph of him getting hitting his first career grand slam. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
