As the classic rock band Cream was preparing for their final tour, psychedelic art innovator Bob Masse created this poster as a farewell tribute to the band. Born on Canada’s west coast, Masse became famous for the blazing colors, unique swirled lettering and strong designs of his rock posters and album covers. Still designing highly original posters for today’s musicians, Masse was influenced by Alphonse Mucha, the Art Nouveau movement and 60s-era art and music scene on America’s West Coast.
A rock n’ roll legend in his own right, Canada’s Bob Masse has been creating highly collectible concert posters since the ‘60’s as one of the pioneers of the psychedelic art movement. Masse’s works reveal his penchant for art nouveau, and the particular influence of Alphonse Mucha. Beyond the usual techniques of the era, his distinctive color palette, unique lettering style, and bold composition form his signature style on posters for the Grateful Dead, and The Doors, to today’s hottest artists such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Smashing Pumpkins.
This art print displays sharp, vivid images with a high degree of color accuracy. A member of the versatile family of art prints, this high-quality reproduction represents the best of both worlds: quality and affordability. Art prints are created on paper similar to that of a postcard or greeting card using an offset lithography press.
