Born in Bellingham, Washington, and raised in Independence, Missouri, Aleah Koury is a master of pastel. Layering colors until his drawings glow like paintings, the artist captures the vitality of nature. He intended to major in biology but switched to art after taking a required class in painting. Koury earned a B.A. in ceramics and an MFA in printmaking, and is equally adept working in two and three dimensions.
This giclee print was produced in a limited edition of 195. It is signed and numbered by the artist.
This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints.
