Product Information
Artistic innovator Lyonel Feininger (1871 – 1956) utilized color and light like stained glass to create angular, shimmering images. Originally from New York, Feininger broke ground with meticulous works developed entirely from straight lines and intersecting planes of color and light. Inspired by Cubism and Orphism, he moved to Germany, where he drew caricatures for humor magazines. A teacher at Germany’s Bauhaus who exhibited with the Blaue Reiter Expressions, Feininger was exiled by Nazis who considered his work “degenerate.” Feininger’s work has won awards from the Worcester Museum and New York’s Metropolitan Museum, and has been exhibited worldwide. The Giclee printing process delivers a fine stream of ink resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display. This art print is produced on a heavy 310 gsm, acid-free and watercolor textured paper.
