Patrick Coffaro’s “Calling All Butterflies” is a color-soaked oasis of torrid red, violet, green and turquoise, contrasted with translucent pastels. A Chicago native, Coffaro draws inspiration for his bold images of cacti and desert scenes from frequent travels throughout the Southwest. His trademark style is defined by a chine-collé process of coloring and bonding layers of paper with inks, varnish and pressure from a printing press. Collected internationally, Coffaro’s sun-scorched artwork is also featured in numerous U.S. galleries.
