Rockefeller Center workmen take a brave catnap in this classic photo by Charles C. Ebbets (1905-1978). Hired to document the New York skyscraper’s construction in 1932, Ebbets snapped this shot from the 69th floor of the GE Building. The well-known photographer was also an adventurer who raced cars, piloted airplanes, wrestled and hunted. Over 300 of his photos documenting American history from the 1920s through the 1970s have been published in magazines throughout the nation.
