Melissa Farlow’s photography has made a difference in the world and captured its awe-inspiring beauty. A National Geographic freelancer for over 15 years, Farlow was previously a staff photographer for newspapers in Pittsburgh and Louisville. While in Kentucky, her photographic team won a Pulitzer Prize for covering public-school desegregation. Working in three African countries, Farlow also compiled photos for a book comparing women’s roles in different cultures. Farlow has won multiple awards, including the National Press Photographers’ Association Pictures of the Year.
